Biotechnology company developing targeted drug delivery systems

This engagement centered on developing proof-of-concept assays for an oral drug delivery device targeting local intestinal delivery of a biologic therapy. I established a tissue penetration system using Ussing chambers, sourced tissue locally, trained academic lab members to run the experiments, and synthesized what was known about gut biology, drug delivery mechanics, and device optimization to assess feasibility.

Beyond the bench work, I became the team's scientific resource across several adjacent areas. I learned antibody manufacturing in depth, developed teaching materials for cross-functional teams, and presented findings and recommendations to senior leadership. I also supported patent attorneys in mapping the IP landscape.
